Having launched the survey report Irish Business in China – Meeting the Inter-Cultural Challenges and successfully run two pilot business training programmes in 2009, the UCD Confucius Institute plans to continue its research on Irish/Chinese intercultural business issues and training programmes in Chinese culture, language and business expertise. The proposed research will be conducted with a focus on similarities and differences between Irish and Chinese business culture, an important issue identified from previous survey research. The training programmes will be designed and implemented to meet the needs of various groups of Irish visitors to the Shanghai Expo between May and October 2010.
