COURSE OBJECTIVES
  1. Students learn the basic combinations of Chinese phonemes and to pronounce them correctly in terms of both articulation and also the four tones.
  2. To meet the demands of communication in Chinese: study, social life and general use.
  3. Students learn elements and constructions of Chinese characters and become capable of writing 20-50 Chinese characters.
TARGET AUDIENCE This course is designed for people who have completed the Chinese for Beginners course.
SESSION & COURSE DURATION One 2 hour session / week. 10 sessions total.

TEACHING APPROACH Learning through practice and exercise is the primary tool used throughout the program besides teaching. In addition, a variety of learning techniques are employed including role-plays, games and interactive practice.
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION This course is taught using English and Chinese.
