Public Lectures

Introduction

Trade between Ireland and China has increased about ten-fold in the last decade. There is a huge demand now for up-to-date information and accurate understanding of contemporary China in the areas of politics, economics, culture, business and more. In order to enhance trade and cooperation between the two countries, Irish people who are involved in doing business with China will benefit greatly from having the latest information, analysis and comment from experts in the field. This course targets individuals and companies who are preparing to do business with China or are interested in current developments in Chinese affairs. Guest speakers, from successful business people to well known academics in relevant subject areas, are invited to contribute.

This course provides both general and specific information about the Chinese economy and business environment. Markets, business cultures, management systems, legal systems and business-relevant information are discussed by experienced experts. The lectures are open to the wider community to access. On completion of this programme of lectures, doing business in China will be a topic participants are well grounded in. They will also benefit from specialist knowledge which they may wish to apply in their respective fields. With their ability and confidence in doing business in China strengthened, future involvement and/or further engagement with China is facilitated.
