The UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland currently comprises of eight full-time and one part-time staff, including three staff members provided by Hanban. The Institute is governed by the Executive Board, chaired by Dr. Philip Nolan, Deputy President of UCD.

BACKGROUND
Ms Yi Bao was born and brought up in China. Ms Bao graduated from Hunan University in China with BSc Hons in Chemical Engineering in 1990. She has worked for five years in Sino-American joint ventures before she obtained her Masters in Hotel and Tourism Management in Jordanstown in University of Ulster in 1996. Ms Bao completed a Master of Business Administration in 1997 with University of Ulster.
Working as a Management Consultant in Ulster Business School she helped to develop the Chinese Market for the business school. In 1999, Ms Bao was appointed as an International Officer for China by the International Office in University of Ulster to help the University establish a wide range of collaboration in China. In May 2006 Ms Yi Bao joined UCD as the Assistant Director of The Irish Institute for Chinese Studies.
